Nepal

Piss anyone?

LOCATION: Boat dock in South Lakeside Pokhara. (9/27/01)

RATING: (Three Dunnies)

Neither Clear or I had the confidence to approach this toilet. The "menu" on the wall outside was just too much, as was the horrific stench (a given at this point). This toilet was docked its two dunnies due both to the crappy attitude displayed by the signs outside and the threatening demeanor of the attendants collecting the patrons "piss" money.

A Classic

LOCATION: Excellent Veiw Guest House - Tolka, Nepal (On Annapurna Sanctuary Trek - 9/30/01)

RATING: (Four Dunnies)

A Classic Nepal outhouse. White porcelain with foot placements on either side. This particular house was very clean and enjoyable. One dunny taken away due to the lack of Western style seating (After a day of hiking up stairs, the last thing you need to do is squat for ten minutes.) and steep stairs leading down to it.

Night Landing

LOCATION: Syauli Bazaar, Nepal (On Annapurna Sanctuary Trek - 10/5/01)

RATING: (Three Dunnies)

This particular toilet house sported a unique lighting system. Similar to night landings at an airport, the landing strip here was lit from beneath, giving the "pilot" an easy target. Odor was minimal, and although bucket style, flushability was good. Two dunnies taken away due to dirt, dust, cobwebs, and no dry place to stash the roll.

the hook

LOCATION: ANNAPURNA SANCTUARY TREK, NEPAL

RATING: (Five Dunnies)

Just under "hot shower"... there's always a hook. Five dunnies, because after a day of climbing as many stairs as we did, you need to take a load off.

tourist or monkey

LOCATION: KATHMANDU, NEPAL

RATING: (NO!!! Dunnies where monkeys are concerned)

Not sure what the monkeys were charging to use this place...fairly certain I didn't see one of them with a mop.
