LOCATION:
Valley View Guest House - Manali, India (9/4/01)
RATING:

(Five Dunnies)
Although there
was a small plague of insects around the light bulb due to the lack of
a screen, the view from this Western style crapper took the cake. From
the little window you could look up the lush valley and into the snowcapped
Himalayas. Undoubtedly there was someone at another guest house looking
down the valley at us, but that's the risk you take. All five dunnies
for comfort and view.
LOCATION: Road
between Manali and Chandigargh, India (9/6/01)
RATING:

(Four Dunnies)
A bus companion
assured us that this particular toilet was safe for use. What he meant
to say was, "there is an impressive display of moss and lichen on the
walls. You should check it out." Although touching anything was
not an option, the plant growth must have done something to aid in odor
reduction. Therefore, only one dunny was removed due to the potential
for grass stains on your shoulders.
LOCATION: New
Delhi Train Station parking lot. (9/8/01)
RATING:
1/2 Dunny.
Although previously
featured on the second Delhi postcard, this street-side monstrosity is
worth a second go. Conveniently placed at one end of the parking lot,
you must pass unfortunately close in order to exit the station. Four and
1/2 dunnies removed due to staggering odor and the inability to escape
it - no matter where in Delhi you are. Photo taken at full zoom.
